Our Gay Apparel: Gerri Hill’s “Chasing A Brighter Blue”

The book had been sitting, unremarkable, on the coffee table in their living room when Gwen finally took the moment necessary to question the cover image.

“Is that a deer in a Santa hat?”

Picking up the book, the clearly photoshopped cover for Chasing A Brighter Blue had a quaint, algorithm-designed draw to it. Gwen could tell at a glance that this book would contain not a trace of deer wearing Santa hats – perhaps it would contain no deer at all.

Models Of The Age: Emma Stebbins’ “Machinist” and “Machinist’s Apprentice”

“You ever have those art pieces that you just sorta wander back to every time you’re here?” Dania asked.

“Like a favorite?” Eleanor said.

“Not necessarily a favorite,” Dania murmured, as they descended into the courtyard of marble statues that marked the beginning of the “American Art Before 1900” wing. “Just one that you like and you always go back to to each time you’re here. I don’t know if its any good, but it’s… a nice sculpture, I guess?”
